Automatic External Defibrillation Course (AED)

Defib Course Overview

This Defib Course gives those people who have the responsibility for using a Defib the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to use this potentially lifesaving piece of equipment. The Defib Course is run over 3 - 4 hours and covers the recommended syllabus laid down by the Resuscitation Council U.K.

Our aim at Good Skills Training is that all learners should enjoy their Defib Course and that by the end of their course all delegates should be safe, prompt, effective and confident AED users.

Defib Course Syllabus

  • Heart Conditions
  • Basic Life Support
  • UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines
  • Safe Use of an AED (Defib)
  • Practice time with the AED


Defib Course Duration

3 Guided Learning Hours.

Usually run over ½ a day, 9:30 - 12:30 or 13:30 - 16:30. This can be adjusted to meet your needs.

Defib Course Prerequisite

There are no formal prerequisites for this course, although it would be beneficial for learners to have practical experience of up to date resuscitation protocols.

Defib Course Assessment Process

This course is assessed by a practical demonstration.

Defib Course Renewal Process

This course is renewed annually by taking another Defib Course.
