Any business licensed to sell alcohol, including small pubs, retailers, large night clubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels, and sports facilities, is required by law to have at least one personal licence holder. To become a personal licence holder, an individual should gain a regulated qualification, such as the Qualify at Home Highfield Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders. A personal licence allows the holder to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol. A personal licence is also needed to apply to become a designated premise supervisor (DPS).
The ‘Qualify at Home’ course allows you to learn and qualify from home, wherever you are, whatever your circumstances and to sit a regulated exam under conditions set out by Ofqual, in your own home.
