Who should attend?
Learners are assessed through tutor questioning, knowledge checks and observed practical first aid activities throughout the course.
Practical assessment includes the key Emergency First Aid at Work skills, such as casualty assessment, CPR, AED use, recovery position, choking and managing bleeding.
Learners are given clear demonstrations and plenty of opportunity to practise before their skills are assessed. The trainer provides feedback throughout the session so learners can improve their technique and understanding.
The purpose of assessment isn't to catch people out. We want learners to leave able to recognise an emergency, make sensible decisions and provide safe, effective first aid while further help is arranged.
Learners who successfully complete the course and assessment receive a Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

I really enjoyed the Emergency First Aid at Work course. It covered a great variety of essential topics, including CPR, choking and burns management. The practical sessions were particularly helpful, giving us the chance to apply our knowledge and receive immediate feedback on our techniques. The instructor, Ian, was brilliant throughout the course. He kept everyone engaged and involved, making the sessions interactive and easy to follow. His depth of knowledge was clear, and he explained everything in a way that was both informative and approachable.
Overall, it was a very worthwhile course that I would highly recommend to others.
The main and most important part of the course was based around CPR, which I found very informative, and the use of an AED. I've never had to perform CPR, but if I have to, hopefully now, I'll be able to.
