First Aid Instructor Course – Blended in Hadleigh

Assessment takes place before, during and after the face-to-face programme and includes the requirements of the individual regulated qualifications together with assessment of the learner's development as a first aid instructor.

Learners complete written coursework and produce a portfolio of evidence for the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, including planning, evaluation and assessed teaching activities.

Teaching ability is assessed through practical training delivery. Learners are expected to plan and deliver sessions, demonstrate first aid skills, communicate effectively, manage practical activities and provide appropriate assessment and feedback.

Learners also complete the required knowledge and practical assessments for the First Aid at Work Requalification and Paediatric First Aid qualifications.

Throughout the programme our trainer observes performance, asks questions, provides feedback and supports learners in developing their instructional skills.

All required assessment components must be successfully completed before the relevant qualification or course certificates can be issued.

Successful completion of the programme provides learners with a combination of trainer development and recognised first aid qualifications.

Subject to successfully completing the relevant assessments, learners will gain:

• QNUK Level 3 Award in Education and Training – providing a recognised teaching qualification.
• QNUK First Aid at Work Requalification qualification – renewing the learner's First Aid at Work qualification.
• QNUK Paediatric First Aid qualification – demonstrating current paediatric first aid knowledge and practical competence.
• Good Skills Training First Aid Instructor certification – recognising successful completion of the wider instructor-development programme.

Together, these elements develop the teaching, first aid and practical assessment skills needed to progress as a first aid instructor.
