QNUK Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Adults in Health and Social Care is for candidates to understand the key principles of safeguarding adults. The qualification is aimed at those working in the health and social care sector. Syllabus
The QNUK Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Adults in Health and Social Care Course covers the following topics:
- Key principles of legislation, codes of practice and policies which relate to the safeguarding of adults at risk
- Roles and responsibilities of those safeguarding and protecting individuals
- Why an individual may be vulnerable to harm or abuse
- Common types of abuse
- Characteristics of different types of abuse
- Promoting an individual’s dignity and rights
- Importance of individualised, person centred care
- Ways in which individuals can be supported in keeping themselves safe.
- Sources of information and advice related to the prevention and protection of individuals
- How to report cases of suspected abuse
- Agencies with which information may be shared
- The importance of multi-agency working
Prerequisites
The QNUK Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Adults in Health and Social Care is for those aged over 18. It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of Level 1 literacy or equivalent. There are no other pre-requisites for this qualification.
