The QNUK Level 3 Award in Responding to Incidents with an AED is aimed at people working where an AED is available. The qualification has been mapped to current UK resuscitation council guidelines and will give attendees the knowledge, skills and confidence to use an AED when required.

Who is the Course For?

  • Anyone who might use the AED or has an interest in how AEDs work.

Course Syllabus

  • Be able to assess an incident
  • Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty that is not breathing normally
  • Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty that is breathing normally
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Understand the principles of using and maintaining an AED

Course Prerequisites

This qualification is aimed at those over 16 who are able to undertake the responsibilities of using an AED in a work environment.

It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Attendees will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures as they would in a real work environment. This includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor, therefore be physically capable of doing so.

There are no other pre-requisites for this qualification.
