The IOSH Working Safely Course covers four core areas, using memorable examples and real-life case studies to bring learning to life

 

  1. An Outline of Occupational Safety and Health
  • The importance of working safely
  • Understanding responsibilities for self and others
  1. Defining Hazard and Risk
  • The difference between hazards and risks
  • Identifying, evaluating, and controlling common workplace risks
  1. Identifying Common Hazards
  • Workplace hazards including slips, trips, falls, electricity, fire, manual handling, and hazardous substances
  • How to reduce exposure through safe systems of work
  1. Improving Safety Performance
  • Why safety management matters
  • Encouraging safer behaviours and creating a positive safety culture

Prerequisite

  • There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
  • Suitable for anyone aged 16 or over who works or intends to work in any sector.

Course Duration

1 Day (6 contact hours)
Typically delivered 09:00 – 17:00, including the end-of-course assessment.

Course Certification

Successful learners receive an IOSH Working Safely Certificate, a qualification recognised worldwide by employers and industry bodies.

Re-Qualification
