Course Duration
4 contact hours. Good Skills Training normally delivers a morning session from 09:00 to 13:15 or an afternoon session from 12:45 to 17:00.
Understand COSHH responsibilities, identify substances hazardous to health and learn how exposure can be prevented or adequately controlled in the workplace.
Many everyday workplace materials can affect health if they are not selected, stored, used or controlled properly. Hazardous substances may include cleaning products, chemicals, dusts, fumes, vapours, mists, gases and biological agents, as well as substances created by work processes.
Our Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Course helps learners understand the risks associated with hazardous substances and the practical steps organisations and employees should take to prevent ill health.
The course explains COSHH responsibilities in straightforward language and uses practical workplace examples to show how substances can cause harm, how people may be exposed and how risk assessments, safe systems of work and control measures help reduce that exposure.
It is suitable for employees who use or encounter hazardous substances, as well as supervisors and others who need a better understanding of COSHH controls. The content can be related to the substances and activities found within your workplace where appropriate.
At Good Skills Training, we believe quality training at affordable prices should be practical, engaging and easy to understand. Training does not have to be an alien concept.
This course is suitable for employees, supervisors and others who use, handle, store or may be exposed to substances hazardous to health.
It is relevant to a wide range of workplaces, including cleaning, education, care, healthcare, manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, hospitality, transport, utilities and facilities management.

Feedback from organisations that have used our services.
We have been working with Good Skills Training over the past seven years as they provide First Aid training for our staff. They have continuously offered a friendly and professional service, from each initial enquiry, through to booking and delivery. On occasions, we have made specific requests, and they have always been willing to accommodate our requirements. As school funding continues to be restricted, we have found that they offer a quality provision at a competitive price. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering using their services.
Good Skills Training have been a mainstay in our training calendar for more than 10 years and have continually provided an excellent service to our site. All of our first aid training has been delivered to the highest standard and helped ensure Birds Eye, Lowestoft maintains a compliant and well trained team of first aiders. The management and instructors at Good Skills conduct themselves with integrity and dedication at all times. A highly recommended service!
Urban Pubs & Bars has worked with Ian and the Good Skills Training team for close to three years now.
