About the training
Course Overview
The QNUK Level 2 Award in Preventing Violence in the Workplace (RQF) is for organisations that want staff to understand the causes and warning signs of workplace aggression and take sensible action before a situation becomes violent. Learners look at environmental, organisational and behavioural risk factors, how risk can be reduced and the choices available when a situation begins to escalate.
The training is grounded in realistic workplace situations, helping staff think about communication, personal safety, reporting and the practical controls that reduce exposure to violence.
This course focuses on prevention and safer decision-making. It does not teach breakaway or physical intervention techniques, so those should be arranged separately where a risk assessment identifies a need.

This course is suitable for employees who may face disagreement, challenging behaviour or workplace violence.
For workplace first aid, the employer should select training through a suitable first-aid needs assessment. For regulated qualifications, learners must also meet the awarding organisation's entry and assessment requirements.

The practical details you may need before arranging or booking this course.
Maximum learners
The maximum stated trainer/assessor ratio is 1:16. If you need to train a larger group, we can normally plan additional tutors or split the group into suitable sessions rather than stretching the permitted ratio.
Prerequisites
No specific prior learning is required. Learners should be at least 16 and should have sufficient English, with QNUK recommending a minimum of Level 1 literacy.
If you require additional learning or assessment support, please let us know when booking so appropriate arrangements can be considered before the course.
Course duration
QNUK specifies 6 hours Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 6 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT). Good Skills Training delivery: Face-to-face - 1 day (6 GLH). GLH/TQT are the formal qualification measures and should not be confused with the way the course is timetabled for customers.
Qualification time: 6 guided learning hours (GLH) and 6 total qualification time (TQT), as stated in the supplied QNUK specification.
Assessment
Learners complete an invigilated multiple-choice question paper to demonstrate their understanding of the course content.
- Multiple-choice examination: 15 questions
- Exam duration: 30 minutes
- Pass mark: 70% (11/15)

Certification
Learners who meet the required QNUK assessment standard receive the regulated QNUK Level 2 Award in Preventing Violence in the Workplace (RQF) qualification from Qualifications Network (QNUK). Qualification number: 603/0562/9. The qualification validity shown in the supplied specification is 3 years.
Requalification
The qualification is valid for 3 years. Renewal or refresher training should be completed before expiry.
