The Highfield Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is a comprehensive course designed to provide learners with essential knowledge and understanding of health and safety practices within a work environment. This course looks at a range of topics including, the responsibilities of employers and employees, the benefits of good health and safety, basics risk assessment steps, and how to reduce accidents, near misses, and ill-health. The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace will help attendees understand that good health and safety standards should not be an alien concept in any organisation and they will learn about typical workplace hazards and controls, common causes of workplace incidents, and the importance of emergency procedures and recording accidents, near misses, and ill-health.

Who is the Course For?

The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is designed to help companies meet their legal requirements to give staff appropriate training in Health and Safety at their level.
Anyone with an interest in Health & Safety at a basic level.
Staff members working in a Supervisory or management role should consider the Level 3 or Level 4 Award in Health and Safety, or the IOSH Managing Safely Courses.

  • The benefits of good health and safety in the workplace
  • The process of risk assessment
  • Hazards and controls in the workplace
  • Responding to accidents, near misses and ill-health in the workplace
  • Emergency procedures
  • The importance of reporting accidents

Prerequisite

  • This qualification is approved for delivery to learners aged 14+.
  • It is also advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in English and maths, or equivalent

Course Duration

6 contact hours
Good Skills Training normally deliver this course over a full day, 09:00 – 17:00

Re-Qualification

As with all health and safety training it is recommended that staff undergo regular refresher training and, or CPD. It is best practice that this is every 3-years.
