The Highfield Level 1 Award in the Principles of Health and Safety within the Workplace provides an accessible introduction to workplace safety and health.
Learners explore the main responsibilities of employers and employees, common workplace hazards, basic control measures, personal protective equipment and safety signs. The course is suitable for people who are new to work or who need a straightforward introduction before progressing to further training.
Training is delivered in plain English using practical examples, making the subject easier to understand and apply.

Requalification
As with all health and safety training it is recommended that staff undergo regular refresher training and, or CPD. It is best practice that this is every 3-years.
Prerequisites
To register on to this qualification, learners are required to be 14 years of age or above. It is also advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in English and Maths or equivalent.
