The course is self-paced, allowing learners to work through the content at a time and pace that suits them.
This is an online course and does not include practical fire extinguisher training. If practical training is required, our face-to-face Fire Marshal Course may be more appropriate.
Course duration
The course takes approximately 2–3 hours to complete.
Training is completed entirely online and is self-paced, allowing learners to fit the course around their work and other commitments.
The content can be completed in manageable sections rather than requiring attendance at a scheduled classroom session.
Assessment
Understanding is checked through multiple-choice questions, interactive activities and knowledge checks within the online course.
Learners must successfully complete the required online assessment before receiving their certificate.
Certification
Learners who successfully complete the course receive a digital certificate of completion.
Requalification
Best practice is for refresher training to take place at least every 3 years, in line with other health and safety related training.
Employers should also arrange refresher training when there are significant changes to the workplace, fire risk assessment, fire procedures, evacuation arrangements or an individual's fire marshal responsibilities, or where fire drills and workplace practice show that further training is needed.
