About the training
About Evacuation Chair Training
Evacuation chairs are there for a moment when people may already be under pressure. Staff need more than a quick demonstration: they need the chance to handle the equipment, understand the route and practise the parts of the process they may actually be responsible for.
What does evacuation chair training cover?
Training typically includes the chair itself, pre-use checks, positioning, communication with the person being assisted, safe operation on stairs, roles and responsibilities, and what the organisation needs to consider before relying on the equipment.
Where possible, we use your own chair and evacuation route so staff are practising with the equipment and environment they will actually face.
Do you offer Train the Trainer?
Yes. If you need competent people to deliver your internal evacuation chair training, we also provide Train the Trainer options. That is a different role from simply being able to operate the chair, so we treat it as a separate training need.
