This course is an ideal introduction to food safety, and a suitable learning resource for colleagues undergoing an induction in environments where food is cooked, prepared, or handled. Although it does not provide a qualification itself, the training meets all legal requirements and offers full compliance for low-risk food handlers.
The e-learning provides all the knowledge and understanding required in order for a learner to go on to achieve any OFQUAL level 1 food safety qualification in catering, by taking the qualify at home assessment.
Who is the Course For?
Bar staff, waiting staff, kitchen porters and anyone else with an interest in basic food safety practices.
- The importance of personal hygiene and keeping work areas clean and hygienic in a catering environment.
- Personal responsibilities for food safety and how to keep food safe in a catering environment.
It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in English and Maths or equivalent.

Multiple choice exam paper.
As with all food safety training it is recommended that staff undergo regular refresher training and, or CPD. It is best practice that this is every 3-years.
