A long risk assessment is not automatically a good risk assessment. The useful test is whether it helps people understand the significant risks and control them.

About Risk Assessment Training
Risk assessment should help people make decisions. If the finished document is so complicated that nobody uses it, the process has missed the point.
What does the training cover?
Learners work through identifying hazards, deciding who may be harmed and how, considering existing controls, judging what else is needed, recording significant findings and reviewing the assessment when things change.
We put emphasis on proportionality and practical judgement. Not every low-level issue needs a three-page assessment, and not every familiar task is low risk just because “we have always done it that way”.
Use your own workplace examples
For in-house training, we can use your tasks, hazards and existing assessments so learners practise with something they recognise. That makes it easier to see the difference between completing a form and actually assessing risk.
