First Aid Certification with Good Skills Training
At Good Skills Training, we are proud to offer engaging, interactive, and affordable first aid courses. Our commitment to quality has been reinforced by our recent achievement of ISO 9001 certification for the delivery of training and consultancy services, including course certification. You can view our certificate here:

In 2012, the HSE withdrew from monitoring and approving First Aid Training Centres. At that time, Good Skills Training was an HSE-approved centre. Since then, we have certificated our first aid courses through various means, including membership with the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) and our status as an OFQUAL-approved training centre with Highfield and QNUK. Approximately 99% of our courses have been certificated through FAIB.
Recently, the HSE updated their guidance for companies on selecting a first aid training provider. According to this guidance, training providers can operate independently of OFQUAL or voluntary accreditation schemes such as FAIB, so long as they can demonstrate effective quality assurance systems. You can find this guidance in section 9 (page 1) of the employers guide. Please also find below the link for the Early Years Foundation Stage that lays out who what is required for childminders and school based foundation stage providers:

After careful consideration, we have decided to certificate the majority of our first aid courses through our ISO 9001 accreditation rather than FAIB membership. As a result, our FAIB membership will end on 31st December 2024. This decision was made for both quality and operational reasons. Our ISO 9001 certification requires us to maintain a quality system that meets the standards of this internationally recognised award and is externally audited on an annual basis. However, we will continue to offer OFQUAL-accredited first aid courses for those customers who require this option.
We have also completed the HSE checklist for evaluating the competence of first-aid training organisations, ensuring that our standards meet and exceed the required guidelines. You can access the completed checklist here:

If you have any questions about these changes or would like further information about our first aid training services, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to continuing to deliver high-quality training that meets your needs.
